Account Setup for Minors
- Ensure a separate Tava Health account is created for the minor using a unique email address that differs from the parent or guardian’s email.
- During the signup process, enter the minor’s date of birth. This will prompt Tava Health to request a parent or guardian’s email to proceed with the next steps.
Parental/Guardian Consent Process
- After entering the minor’s date of birth during signup, Tava Health will email a digital consent form to the parent or guardian.
- The parent or guardian must review and sign this consent form digitally for the minor to begin therapy services.
Therapy Options by Age Group
- Minors aged 13–18: Eligible for individual therapy after completing the consent process.
- Children under 13: Can only attend family therapy sessions with a parent or guardian. Note that individual therapy is not permitted for this age group.
Insurance and Payment Information
- Insurance Coverage: Standard insurance policies may cover individual therapy for minors aged 13–18.
- Family Therapy: For children under 13, family therapy sessions are not covered under standard individual insurance plans. These sessions are available only via self-pay or when sponsored by an eligible organization.
By following these guidelines, parents and guardians can ensure that their children are set up to receive the appropriate therapy services through Tava Health. If you have any questions about minor consent, family therapy, or payment options, reach out via the chat bubble or email client-support@tavahealth.com.
